CURRENT URBAN STORIES | BURGUNDY WINDOW | Episode 4

I enjoyed my dinner date with Bobby last night. I promised him I would stay up until 3:30am to look outside. I’m trying my best to stay awake, this is so hard. I put on some music to keep my mind busy, but I don’t think it’s strong enough. I wonder how Bobby is doing, he might be used to this.

I doze off for a minute, and then my alarm clock comes on.

I immediately run over to my desk window and wait for something to show up, but I don’t know what I’m looking for.

Ding Ding!!! – I messaged Bobby right away.

Why are they walking around in the middle of the street like that?

Call me!

Hey, don’t be scared. They do this every full moon. It’s a demonic ritual. On this night, they get together, and put spells on everyone that is against them. If you look closely, you can see all of your neighbors out there. The people you thought were just regular nosey neighbors are actually part of it. They all dress up as witches. Some of them may not know what they’re doing as far as worshiping evil beings, they think it’s all New Orleans fun like Mardi Gras. Even that has demonic worship hidden in it.

The two men you see walking in the opposite direction are an old couple. They moved here after being rejected for their relationship many years ago. They hid in the Bywater neighborhood to escape being killed. They are the creators of this whole event. Feeling abused and persecuted by everyone, they craved freedom and power, and used witchcraft to get it. I’ll be honest, I feel bad for them. Nobody should feel like that, but that pain made them evil. They reject Jesus, because society told them that he rejects them. That is not true at all.

What a sad life. I totally understand, but you can’t fight evil with evil.

Yeah, they took it too far. The devil uses our pain, and emotions to destroy us. He’ll take one person, to attract others. Why destroy one person, if you can use them to take down many more. It’s called the spirit of rejection. We all have experienced rejection some time in our lives, but it’s how you react to it. Do you let it change you? No, you accept it and move on. The best protection against evil is with the word of God, faith and Jesus. They try their best to hurt me, but I am protected. They easily attack the people with weak faith. Luke warm Christians.

Why are the two men walking in the opposite direction of everyone else?

They tricked all of those people into believing they are together in this ritual/parade, but they are using them as a sacrifice for this deity they worship. They walk down a separate path, while the others are being spiritually corrupted. Evil is destroying their lives, convincing them to go further and further away from God. They gain power by destroying the others. You see, evil doesn’t only want to kill you. It wants to persuade you to reject God, and his calling over your life. God loves us, don’t ever think he doesn’t. Jesus was here to save us, and put an end to spiritual death. If you tell people this, they will laugh and call you crazy. I felt the same way once, I was spiritually blind. My eyes were opened when my grandparents died, and everything they said would happen, happened. They told me to pay attention to Ed and Joe, the old couple walking North on Burgundy.

I thought that was a kid.

No, Ed is the smaller one, and probably the most evil of the two.

Yawn!!! I am so sleepy. I hope he didn’t hear me.

I’m sorry I kept you up. I have to get some rest too. I still have to get up, and go to work today.

You never told me what you did for a living.

I knew I forgot to tell you something. I’m the manager at the local radio station, and I cover all the news around the city. A lot of my information comes from my job. I’ll invite you up some time.

Thank you, I would love to see it. I know you have to go, try to get some rest. I’m going to stay home today. I feel horrible.

OK, Love. Don’t be afraid, don’t eat anything from them, and pray. Thats all you need to do. If you ever feel scared, call me anytime. I hope you feel better.

I will…Goodnight, Bobby.

Bye, beautiful.
