CURRENT URBAN STORIES | BURGUNDY WINDOW | Episode 5

After hanging up with Bobby I took a nap, and I had the most scariest dream. It seemed so real.

In the dream I was following someone walking around the city, and she walked up to this fence in Jackson Square. The tree behind the fence came alive, and became a human form. The tree reached out and handed the woman something, it looked like some type of odd shaped book. It had a weird design on the front, and she told her to spread it around the city to her people. The tree had an evil presence to it, it’s hard to describe. It looked like it was trying to intimidate her, and force her to do its will. She looked frozen in fear.

In the dream my mind shifts to four young women in different parts of the city. They looked like the girls from the coffee shop that were starring at Bobby and I the other day. They were all carrying the weird shaped book, and as they walked around they placed these round balls in specific areas in the city forming a grid like shape similar to the design on the cover of the book. I could hear them chanting something, but it sounded like gibberish. Out of nowhere, I hear in a loud voice….”She’s watching us”. Then boom! I wake up, and my heart is racing. That evil energy or whatever it was kicked me out of the dream. I feel like something punched me, this was not like any other dream. This felt so real, I’m shaking.

I need to clear my mind, and take a walk. This has been a wild couple of days. I decided to take a walk around the corner to Mardi Gras zone to get a Kombucha and some air. As I walk I hear a crowd of people yelling and screaming over by the French Quarter. I’m thinking it’s just a regular day in the quarter, but the closer I get the more the yelling sounds like anger instead of cheers. You can hear the rage in their voices. I stop walking, by this time I’m over by Frenchmen Street. I use my phone to zoom in and see what is going on over there. The streets are packed with people. All I can see are arms swinging, and people punching each other.

I look up above the people, and I see this weird looking face in the clouds. It’s like there was something controlling the crowd of angry people. Whatever it was, it did not look good. Every step I took I could feel rage growing inside of me, almost like it wanted me to join them. Some of the people were walking around like normal, while the rest were going crazy. I remember what Bobby said, and I immediately pray. I start walking backwards away from the area, and head back home.

It feels like whatever they did in my dream was happening in real life. Did they plant something to cause these people to act this way? I know I had that dream for a reason, I have to figure this out.

I want to call Bobby, but he’s working right now. He is the only person that can answer my questions. I lived here all of this time, and had no clue this was going on. I always felt there was this dark vibe around this city, but it was really an evil entity controlling everything. I wonder if Ed and Joe summoned it this morning, and maybe thats why I had the dream. I can’t just run and leave, I have to warn people. The problem is that whenever someone mentions Jesus or the Bible around here, they laugh or call you crazy. If they knew this was happening behind the scenes, maybe they would wake up and change.

I kept walking and walking, and I wasn’t paying attention. I walked right past my house, and I ended up on this street about 5 blocks over. Out of nowhere a woman stops me.

Hey Baby! Why the sad face? You are blessed.

Thank you Ma’am.

Don’t ever let fear and sadness into your heart, God has a purpose for you.

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. Do you see what’s going on around here?

I’ve lived here my entire life, and I’ve seen a lot. The enemy does not want you to know who you really are in Christ. He wants to distract you, but the lord opened your eyes for a reason. My name is Mrs. Beverly, if you have any questions please stop by and sit with me. I’ll teach you everything I know. This is my shop here.

Thank you, my name is Rainey. What do you sell?

Pretty much everything, haha. I can feed you, dress you, and teach you about the Lord all in one place. My husband and I sell used clothes, and we make food for everyone in the neighborhood. People love our Pralines and Po’boys, we won a food competition about 12 years ago for our fried chicken. I think you’ll enjoy it. We’re open from 8am – 8pm. Stop by sometime.

Yes Ma’am, I look forward to it. It’s nice to meet good people, it was getting a little lonely around here.

When you walk in here, you are family. Get home safe, and remember to pray for those people. They need you.

Amen I will, have a Goodnight!

I don’t know where she came from, but I needed to hear that message. It feels like God heard me ask for help. He led me right to Mrs. Beverly. Thank you Jesus for always being with me, even when I doubt you’re still here helping me. God is good!

AMEN
